Sheer Magic Landscapes

Rachel Hatchard, member of our Branch, reports on our latest workshop in this post....

Margaret Heath's embroidered and painted art was very inspiring.  Here are some examples of Margaret's work.

This was our challenge to aim towards.  Margaret kindly guided us through some interesting techniques.  We focused on laying specially dyed sheer silk on painted calico & created texture with different stitches.  We all learned something new

A bit further along with techniques. Both hand and machine embroidery were applied.

Well done everyone – these were our accomplishments at the end of the day.

Our first workshop this year

'Burning Issues' was a great success and the techniques of the soldering iron were explored with lots of colour and a variety of fabrics.  Here are some of our members and some pieces produced using the technique.

Our next workshop is 'Sheer Magic' on Saturday, 17th March.
