Broderers, Bancroft and the Banner

We welcomed Susi Bancroft to Little Somerford Village Hall last night who gave a fascinating insight into the work of the members of Brunel Broderers, a longstanding and well-respected group of textile artists.  Susi brought examples of work produced by the group and gave us a whistle stop tour through their recent exhibitions and projects.

It was interesting to hear how a group of artists with a wide range of artistic practice and interests work collectively to promote stitching and textile art across the South West.

As we gathered for the talk, we also had the opportunity to view our latest work in progress - each member has been given a letter to stitch for an embroidered banner for our branch which we will use for exhibitions and to display when we have our AGM.

It's definitely coming together with only a few letters to be completed.  Once completed the letters will be arranged and stitched together by members of the committee and ready for display later in the year.
