Capability Brown at Bowood House

To celebrate the 300th anniversary of the birth of Capability Brown, a group of our branch members have contributed to a national festival of stitch and textiles inspired by his landscape design and legacy in historic gardens across the UK.

Along with members from Marlborough Branch, Malmesbury Branch members visited Bowood House to record the vistas and landscape created by Capability Brown and used those images and research to create a fantastic selection of textile pieces for an exhibition which opens on 25th March at the House.

More information about this great project can be found at the Embroiderers Guild website and there are many events happening across the country celebrating the work of Capability Brown that can be found here.
